[Suggestion] Role-Playing Subsection

Some users may love it and some may never use it, but to each their own and with the addition of this I feel the server would get a lot better for those who participated and used the subsection and it would stay the same(still great) for those who didn't participate.

 

You and OhMrsKittyKat are not secure in yourselves if you have a problem with other people doing stuff like this.

It is as though you are uncomfortable about people who are different than you. You should be more confident in yourself and not worry that you aren't the same as everyone else.

 

Although I probably would not use this new subsection of the forums if it is created, I think it would be a great addition to the forums. This is because whether you are young or old, many people enjoy role-playing since it gives you a different perspective about a certain issue, brings back memories, or maybe you just simply enjoy/love role-playing. Whatever the case is, I don't see any negative aspects to this since people who dislike role-playing can just evade it altogether while those who enjoy participating or reading others performing it can benefit from the addition of this subsection.

It is a good thing to share your opinion on the matter, I don't really think it's appropriate to say words such as "degrading" on a very reasonable suggestion that many people seem to agree with or pulling out an extreme example of this matter. Adding this subsection is much simpler than asking andrewkm to add this plugin or w/e it could be and it doesn't really have any major negative repercussions opposed to your example of this whole "war" and "grief" thing you mentioned.
Every individual has different opinions on different matters, but there is no reason to go to the extremes or be rude about your own point of view. Just for future reference, if you can support your statement of how the addition of this is "degrading" for the ECC forums, I believe many people would be happy to argue in a civilized manner to share their point of view as well.

I don't appreciate being called insecure about myself. I'm a realist, I don't pretend. There's nothing wrong with that. I find this dumb in my own personal opinion and have a right to do so.

 

What they mean by roleplaying is town history and things like that. Kind of like town news (e.g. Someone declared war on another town) its just for fun. Why be against it? I mean how will it affect you at all?

 

The town/nation roleplaying should go in the discussion about it. I don't see why we can't simply allow this roleplaying in those pretty much dead forums. Any other roleplaying is far to annoying and unnecessary to be given an entire forum section to. The majority of the forums is simply for discussion apart the server, not roleplaying along as this could be done in game with local. -1

"it just looks cool" is very subjective and I don't think you quite grasp that.

I'm not saying you should be a total relativist, but at least acknowledge that some people have different interests than you and they might want to pursue those interests here

 

That made 0 sense... cosmetics are far from acting. Anyhow, I said that it would make the forums look like a joke. Personal opinion. If you want to play pretend and act like something your not by all means go ahead, I just would not like to see it on this forums. That is all.

If it's your personal opinion, phrase it as such. "I think that it would" instead of "it would".

I have a lovely comparison for you:
I don't like watching sports, but I do like watching TV. So sports shouldn't be on TV.

Do you see what's wrong with that statement.

I'm not even mentioning that everyone pretends and acts like something they're not, because that's how you hide insecurities, especially so on the internet, where you're anonymous and can basically say and do whatever you want.

Now, a fair lot of people would LOVE to roleplay on this forum, roleplaying is a part of every game.

But you don't want to see it so the people who love it shouldn't be allowed to roleplay on the forums.

Grow up, the world doesn't revolve around you. It's fine if you have an opinion on something, nothing wrong with that, but don't try and force your opinion on others and stop them from doing something fun.

 

But still; this is a whole new forum for the mods to moderate. Furthermore, what if nobody actually uses it? The reason I really don't like this is because I honestly do not want another dead forum. I hate looking to see forums that nobody uses. On the forums themselves, I only have seen one close to roleplaying event. Honestly, I don't mind seeing it global unless it is all the marriage stuff. That really annoys me. But anyway- I really don't it will be used a lot for forever, so as previously stated it should go in Towns/Nations for war RPing and the reason this suggestion was posted or maybe even Forum Games as it can be seen as a game I supposed. Off topic isn't used, either. I really don't want another dead forum.

 

Well, to be fair, role playing goes unnoticed or doesn't even happen because there's no place for it to happen. I'm sure many people would love to roleplay in there. Some popular users like Revanrose, welikeike, joliver and outerlocal would start with this, and I'm sure many others will follow after seeing popular users roleplay, it's fun to do. I'm sure I would try it out as well.

Also, forum games is more forum only stuff. While roleplaying ties in with in-game things, it's a completely new way to do towns and a great way to bring attention to ones town.
As for the towns/nations subforums, I think that forum is too crowded with regular town posts that it would hide the stuff like roleplaying.
Right now I've seen roleplaying in general discussion, but it doesn't quite fit in there, but it doesn't really fit in the town subforum either.
So I would love a new subforum for roleplaying.

 

+1 RPing is very fun to many people, and if you don't like it, don't do it. It would organize the forums a lot. If people want to RP, they will RP even if there isn't a section, so why not just clean up forums?
Plus all I do is go on forums, so I would probably RP lol.

 

Furthermore, to those suggesting "just put it in towns/nations discussion" - That isn't possible. There is a strict limit of how many threads each user/town can have, and various RP threads would cause users to go over the limit.

I gave my arguments and you gave yours, there was no need for a response unless you have a counter argument to add. Especially not a rude response like this.

 

Well, I know I already role-play quite a bit... Sith Lord and all... plus Queen of a castle... Plus I keep starting wars and had a coup a few days ago... Yeah I think this is a fantastic idea lol.
