Minecraft Name: Netsui Suggestion: Enable Mcmmo salvaging child-skill. Reason: There is currently nothing to do with steel, golden, or diamond tools and armour once you have enchanted diamond so they just sit there it would be good to be able to turn them into their base metal or gem. Any Other Information: Even if it made so you only get 1 iron, gold, or whatever ingot from the item it would still be worth it because as now they're fairly worthless. and you get them by the dozen with fishing. +1 Even with few hours of fishing, the amount of gold/iron gears and tools doesn't even reach 10 so you would get like no more than 10 iron/gold ingots.
Definitely agree. Salvage would have a negligible effect on the server economy, even if it allowed you to salvage the maximum amount of raw materials needed to make the item (e.g: helmet=5, chestplate=8, leggings=7, and so on). Here is a quick test and some basic math I did a few months ago to estimate the supposedly detrimental impact on the economy due to salvaging: https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/...-salvage-skill-from-mcmmo.152843/#post-854493
+1 as long as you cant salvage enchanted items for the book of that enchant. Not sure if it does that or not. But that would make Fishing a bit over powered tbh. but extra Leather and gold would be great for Builders and bookcase makers
To those who have not read up on mcmmo you can search the skills here. Since mcmmo repair is not a thing here , I will assume salvage skills level will be equal to fishing level since normally its repair but repair is disabled atm like how smelting is between mining and repair but atm is just off mining ?
Oh last time I looked at the wiki it wasn't there, upon reading the wiki we might have to change the salvage block as well to something other than a gold block, as it could possible cause problems.
+1 I am sick of looking at my iron tools and armor that are in my store. Here's my thoughts though: I think it shouldn't be the full amount used to craft it as I can have the free liberty to create and destroy any one tool over and over just to boost my mcMMO, thus giving me a power level quickly. I suggest making it one metal/diamond/leather less than the crafting (i.e helmet-4, chest-7 and so on). In addition to that, maybe make a perk at like 200 or something that has a chance to salvage the full value (with the chance increasing as you level up). I feel the possibilities are endless for perks tbh: the enchanted condensing with a chance to get a book with the same enchants (higher chance as levels go up) is a popular one. In short, this is one of the best suggestions I heard yet.
https://github.com/mcMMO-Dev/mcMMO/wiki/Salvage I don't think you receive mcMMO XP for the child skill itself.
You are correct. The child skill is Parent skill x + Parent skill Y Devided by 2. In this case its repair + fishing devided by 2
This: And, on top of that: if my understanding of salvage is not wrong, you don't recover the whole amount just outright: the amount you recover depends on your MCMMO level. Therefore, if you can already recover the whole amount, that means that you are already high on salvage MCMMO stats: thus there's not much to boost anymore.
