Minecraft Name: officepwnz123 Suggestion: Make it a blanket 6 months+ for all ranks (if not 6, at least a minimum amount of forum/ in game time) to apply for staff. Reason: I believe that if a person gets staff, they need to be familiarized with the forums and in game to effectively moderate. Someone that has just joined and a week later got mayor, should not be eligible to apply for staff. Any Other Information: You look so pretty today please take this suggestion into consideration i said u r pretty Link To This Plugin:
100k is probably not because you could just join and sell some donations for 100k. Money doesn't exactly reflect your experience. For the suggestion, +1.
To be fair, some people, especially those that are older can understand a server extremely quickly. People like Dewsy92 became very highly ranked within 12 months.
I agree, which is why I added to be more fair for users that are able to familiarize and understand how ECC works quicker.
Staff should be chose by how the person is. Not by some arbitrary number as to how long you have been around.
Must be an active member of the community The above seems rather arbitrary and could be interpreted many ways by different people The lack of concrete metrics in the above statement, would lead me to believe it is ineffective as a rule for choosing staff.
That's exactly what we use, and have used, for years to vote on new staff within the staff team. You think that Mayor+ are exempt from being 'active members of the community' because of their rank? A builder/resident can apply if their forum account is over 6 months old. Then they are judged by the same standards as everyone else, one of which is they must be an active, helpful member of the community. You post makes it sound like this is something new, but it isn't. And of course it could be interpreted different by different people - everything can be interpreted in different ways. That is why the whole staff team votes and new staff aren't just picked by 1 or 2 people.
A player's familiarity with the server will be reflected in their application responses. There doesn't need to be a set number of time spent on the server that decides staff additions. -1
I agree with this partly. Rank is important but it has little to do with ALL the workings of the server (like keeping the peace and helping the community and game mechs, you don't need to know much to get mayor just be determined and willing to farm and SG alot) there are many builders and residents that are way smarter and mature then higher ranked players. If dedicated players want to apply they should be able too regardless of rank. A player should be picked by their actions not by a rank that aquired.
I completely agree, the ECC community is unique and you need time to become familiar with it, and for people to become familiar with you +1
I joined Staff in my 4th month on the server. I did my job well, and I don't think another 2 months of waiting would've changed that. 6 months, in my opinion, is too much time if we were ever to implement a rule like this. I agree with Unicow (who shows some maturity for a Builder lol), applicants should not be judged by the number of months they've been on the server. Every person picks up ECC at their own pace. It's very easy to tell how much a person has affected the server, and is knowledgeable of its features, through the actual Staff application and their in-game actions. Therefore, I don't think it's necessary to get rid of a large group of prospective Staff members. And come on, I'm sure every Staff member didn't know everything there was about ECC when they joined the team. It's a constant learning process, and setting a set date to qualify as "experienced" doesn't seem right to me. TL;DR: -1
Most Builders are, and it's even more rare to see a Builder who knows how to use the forums, and even MORE rare to see one who has something intelligible to say. I see a bright future for this one.
Haha, thanks The things that should matter are things like how many times you have been banned, and their reasons. I know everyone can change, but still.
