+1, I see nothing but good things that this could be used for. It would also make it easier for those who want to make a thread in which involves data or other information that needs to be expressed/displayed on a table or graph. This would be something that I think could definitely be implemented. Over, nice idea.
XenForo doesn't have this feature at its core, but I done a search and found these: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/cta-table-bb-code.2847/ https://xenforo.com/community/resources/datatables-bb-code-by-waindigo.2375/ This could also "maybe" be done using a custom BB code, in the ACP of XenForo. I have still to work this out, but I will do my best to try and create a BB code that would work, using the XF feature.

Editing a page with javascrript could be dangerous, In fact is it dangerous. You can do some malicious things with it. Especially through web page editing.
That's javascript,not html. Some website building pages allow you to insert boxes in which you can insert your own html for example.

@thehockeykids2 That would indeed work but you have to pay for it, and i dont think we should have to pay for something as simple as tables... https://xenforo.com/community/resources/cta-table-bb-code.2847/ This is a more simplified version of that, it doesn't have the table thing on the quick reply box but it does enable tables. I spoke with @Physicistsmom last night and was advised to tag her in this (One time thing dont tg her in everything ) I was going to make a nw suggestion but this isnt exactly old. Hopefully we can get this implemented. +1
