I don't give a crap about theme or anything. I don't care about getting new players. Gosh darnit, I want the old spawn back! We don't need new players if I'm honest. As long as we have a nice community, we'll all grow in time!

I know that some of us can rebuild that spawn like it was the back of our hands! I know that! All these modern era spawns are complete trash. Garbage. Who says we have to follow the rest? What we need is a small cheerful spawn. And that was what the old one was.

It's sad that small communal servers like these have to convert to some big garbage player factory. We aren't like that! No need to follow in their shadows, their footsteps. Make our own path; follow the road less traveled.

That's my two cents.

 

We delete back-ups about every 7 days. there is not a copy of it anywhere, besides maybe that sg, but it is very destroyed.

 

Plus, we don't want to dwell on the past. We changed the old spawn for a reason, we aren't going to rebuild it. Like I said, we might get something similar, but there is literally 0 chance of getting any of the old spawns back.

 

I like the spawn just the way it is

 

The only spawn I have seen is the current one.... aaaand its astonishingly dreadful. I mean really, it looks like the inside of a hospital, it has 0 personality and every time I have to go through it I drink a speed potion and sprint so I don't have to watch it for too long. I don't care about the old spawn but there has to be a new one soon. Maybe something with warmer more friendly colors, something more natural like wood and grass and stone, it should maybe look like an old town and not this white and sterile thing with a bunch of portals scattered around. I have been playing for more than an year now and I still get confused sometimes, imagine now how the new players feel. So please in the name of everything sacred change it ASAP.

I am opposed to the suggestion, but out of interest why don't you want to dwell on the past?

 

The one reason I dislike what this server has done, is making things look nice, and have no other benefits.. When we implemented new pvp arena's, they were just for the looks, and that absolutely killed pvp. I'd rather have a flat 200x200 stone or dirt surface than the laggy, 20 block run we have now.
The old spawn was just to get stuff done, and it was rather simple. Don't get me wrong, the new spawn was cool for about 2 months.. the old spawn never got old.. even after a year of playing. And let's be honest, almost everyone with fly atm would love to have the old spawn. After 1 year I still have big trouble navigating through spawn. And, if I were a new player and ECC had this spawn in early 2013 when I joined, I likely would have quit the first day just from navigating stuff.. The old spawn was perfect for new players... There was signs no one could miss, and it gave instructions.. and all you had to do was walk 10 blocks and know what all the portals do.
Well, I know this won't happen due to the actions for the past 11 freaking months.. but whatever. That's my two cents.

 

If so many people don't like the current spawn...

Maybe it is time to do another spawn build competition. However, we should have some parameters; thing such as simplicity, style, and natural elements. All of these could be voted on by the people.

I mean, if you think about it, it is nearing a year. Each spawn prior to this one was ~1 year before a transition.

It just might be time.

IMO we don't really need spawn back, but I would still recommend a new one. The current one is simply smashing new players to the ground, they have no idea where everything is located etc, IMO a result of the multi-floor design. As well, without high gamma it is very hard to see much there except the direct glowstone environment. Just adding my 3.14$ here. :)

 

I certainly don't want to dwell on the present either. Past was awesome! And there is a chance of getting old spawn back... block for block? Heck no! But from memory and screenshots you'd be surprised...

 

We aren't going to attempt a replica of an old spawn. It's not going to happen. I'm sorry.

How about this. Everyone post ANY pics of the old spawn you have. This way it could possibly be recreated as best as possible.

I've only seen the new spawn, and I don't really get what you all mean when you say it was so confusing. It's been just fine for me this whole time.
I'd be fine with the current spawn sticking around for a while. Also, another spawn build comp seems like a good idea.

 

Do you use a GPS, a compass and a map to get around it. That would explain why its easy for you to navigate this maze.

well then the staff have completely lost touch with the server, because it's obvious what the server wants. I REALLY don't care that your programmed to say the old spawn is not coming back. It needs to come back and no matter what your saying the players want it.

 

It'S also a problem of ability. As already stated, there is no backup. Now, how should we get it back then in your opinion?

Please show proof thatm many people want it and not just a few... :/
