However, if the current owner has a contract (most likely does in order to pay for their mayor) that after receiving mayor the original owner will give it to the legal owner, then it would be fine. I believe that's what @skymaster200 was referring to.
I'm afraid it's not easy to find out if that's the case. Town histories are deep things. Especially if all agreements are made in game. Also, I've known people who got back their sold town from inactive buyers. Easier to prevent a problem than to get rid of it.
That's why we limit it to people designated as legal owners under the rules. May be harder to establish on older towns but would prevent illegal owners from being able to act maliciously.
Again, why does there have to be contract between the original owner and the current owner? If the original owner sells the town, goes inactive/ or gets banned for 6+ months, then there's no reason to get their consent. The current owner(s) of the town should make these decisions. +1
If they sell it - how to prove without a contract? Everybody could say they bought the town. Inactive for 6 months or permabanned - what do we even need town claims and the Tycoon+ ranks for?
Omg, this would be amazing. I've run into this SNAFU before as well, and if I buy a town, I want the rights to put another town next to it. Without the "original owner" (who has forfeited the rights to the town BY CONTRACT) being forced to give his approval. If I bought a town, then I think I should be able to at least place towns next to it. I understand the whole not putting features in (cuz of Tycoon and such)...but for real, if it's my town by contract, I should be able to place a town near it.
