Minecraft Name: skymaster200
Suggestion: To put rules in place to prevent false advertising and players making shops with crazy pricing just to get people to misread the signs so they gain money from people
Reason: People doing stuff like this is a horribly wrong thing to do and i think this would be away to prevent others from loosing tons of hard earned money from people trying to sneak through the rules to avoid punishment
Any Other Information: @Trey_B @bobman3355 ----> my insperation @ImaginexMakers
^ wut im trying to stop

+100000 plz make this a thing!

bobman3355 MayorBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️ Prestige ⭐ III ⭐ Premium UpgradeYes the buyer is responsible but do we really want people to be able to mis lead like this? Think about how much people could take advantage of builders who have no clue how a trade sign works. If I fall for it for sure other people will. Buyer be ware is not the kind of environment we want on ECC. We want scammers to be banned and we want people to feel safe doing transactions. I think your -1 would be different if you were the person who mis read a sign and sold ur weeks worth of hard work for 20k.

-1 have some common sense and read what you are buying.

bobman3355 MayorBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️ Prestige ⭐ III ⭐ Premium UpgradeYes have some common sense but how would it hurt you if this went into affect? Unless ur planning on mis leading people into selling you things it would not change anything for you but it would bennifit many other players.

So I'm in favor of the general idea of the suggestion, and we do ban false advertising when specific (ie if matrix's sign red "Buy Nstars $500" that'd be illegal).
However when we get to vague things like this it becomes more difficult - what do we define a "good deal" as? What do we define "crazy pricing as"? Sure, you can say x% above market value, but can we define "market value"? Sure of course we can say staff discretion but then, look at what happens with vulgar language? If going to be stricter we need clear cut rules. And I don't see how we would make these clear cut.-

it'd hurt me cause i'd have less freedoms. i have nothing to scam anyone with cause well i have nothing at all so yeah

bobman3355 MayorBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️ Prestige ⭐ III ⭐ Premium UpgradeYes it might be hard to make it clear cut but I also don't see an issue with staff digression. The staff team makes good decisions and if they talk it over and they see malicious intent then I they could punish how they see fit. Without some rules I place what is to stop me from offering to buy bulders nstars for a great price and since most of them barely know how to use trade signs I could easily scam them. Some set of rules needs to be put in place to stop things like this from happening.

make it clear cut by not allowing players to clearly trick players into buying their crazy over priced stuff?
-
bobman3355 MayorBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️ Prestige ⭐ III ⭐ Premium UpgradeWhy do you want the freedom to scam though? Yes we all need freedom but is this something you really care that much about?
-
Define overpriced. That's what I'm asking you to do. Give me a definition of overpriced that I can incorporate into the rules.
-
no i just want people to learn to have common sense and not rely on safety nets everytime they have a choice to make

"A given item that exceeds market value by x amount"
-
bobman3355 MayorBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️ Prestige ⭐ III ⭐ Premium UpgradeYa I do like this. I think if it would be relitivsly clear cut if someone does 700 for 10 anther stars so it looks like 1 nether star. This is clear intent to scam. The user picked 10 because it looked like 1 and 700 because it's 100 above market price so people would be exited to sell. They could have done 11 or 12 but that would be obvious. It would not be to hard for staff to tell what was going on in this situation.

bobman3355 MayorBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️ Prestige ⭐ III ⭐ Premium UpgradeIf it's a buy sign and it's below market value by 30% and if it's a sell sign and its above market value by 30% this gives buffer for charging more to maximize profits but makes it so people can't trick other people into buying things. Market price is easily calculated based off looking at a few other spawn shops and seeing what they are selling the item for.
