Rage in the Shoutbox about the Super Bowl.... @FiFyFoFumOtter @Ninjaboy3113
Anyway...
I can't believe it. Ok, so you just got a miracle catch bringing you down to the 5 yard line. It's first and goal, you run it with Marshawn Lynch down to the Patriots' 1. Ok, good. Second down, with 20 seconds left. That's three tries to pop it into the end zone... and you have Marshawn Lynch, the beast, who can get the score to win the game, no problem. And... you pass it - PASS IT?!?! - and it gets intercepted. OMG. Game over.
The Patriots literally got handed that win by absolutely boneheaded playcalling. Why do you pass up the middle on the 1 yard line when you can win?! *sigh* Whatever. Like FiFy said in the shoutbox, the Seahawks only have themselves to blame.
At least it was an entertaining Super Bowl, which was much closer than and had way better commercials than last years'.
Hey, I just noticed, 420 posts :p

Forgot to mention the bad bad ref calls as well.
And yes, even though that was a offensive coach call the main coach said something after game that he was indeed, to blame. -
Oh look, it's Green Bay all over again!
Patriots played defense to what came to them, and won it. Gotta give credit to the rookie Butler also, for reading Wilson like a book on that pass.
Also, pretty sure there's no "Bill Beli-cheat" in that game. That was a hard-fought, deserving win with a bit of help from the Seahawks :p (remind you of the title game?)-

The un needed unecessary roughness call was so idiotic. He pushed him out of bounds like he should have. Now, I have only played football for 3 years but I have never seen a call like that.

Also, what about that unsportsmanlike conduct after one of the Seahawks' TD's? He was celebrating like anyone would after a touchdown. Totally disagree with that call too.
I do think there were several bad calls for both sides, but they didn't decide the game, in my opinion. What decided the game was that last Seahawks play.
(Hey, this all reminds me of the Chargers, who blow it in the 4th quarter all the time too.)
Honestly, after this game, my hatred for the Patriots has been fueled even more (sorry Pats fans). I just cannot stand Belichick and Brady, and I just hope Brady is satisfied enough with his 4 Super Bowl rings that he just retires and gets the heck out of the league. Belichick too, I have noticed that, though he wins often, when he loses, he seems to be a really poor sport, which is unacceptable in a professional position like his.
With the whole deflated balls matter from a couple weeks ago: I just think something's up with that. Not sure entirely, maybe nothing has happened at all. But I just have a creeping suspicion something's not right. Either way, the Patriots seem to have a history of bending the rules/cheating, part of the reason they're my #1 least-favorite team.-

My team won at least. #GoCommercials

Actually, this time around, I noticed that Brady/Belichick were pretty good sports. They shook hands, were courteous, and interviewed properly with the media.
As for the two calls: Shane Vereen had already stepped twice out of bounds. That is clear evidence you are out, meaning you can't be tackled from that point on, else it is a late hit. Earl Thomas threw himself into him after the two steps, meaning it was a fair call for the officials. This is what I have noticed be called in my high school games, and pro games as well.
The call on Baldwin was ticky-tack, however, he was celebrating a bit longer than you should. Gronk's spike and chest bumps, or Chris Matthew's short pose were fine, but running around for a good 30 seconds celebrating isn't what you are allowed to do.
Even though I am a Packers fan, my hat goes off to the Patriots. Congratulations on your Super Bowl win, arguably one of the best games in Super Bowl history. For the other 31 teams: The preparation begins for next year. -

Brady was throwing a fit in so many cutscenes. He was a fair winner but being a baby when losing.
Also, goblizz, if you have every played football, you will know that when running as fast as Thomas was, you dont just easily stop. With the adrenaline too, you just try to get them out. It isnt as apparent there on the field with a tiny view because of the helmet bars as it is on a huge screen played frame by frame. -
And yes, I have played football. I've been hit in that way too. It's an iffy call for the players, but is usually called by the referees. Why? Because there is no real need to dive or jump at the guy when he's clearly out. Even running full speed you can stop, unless you trip. But Thomas didn't trip, he dove. Plus, Thomas has the wide view receiver helmet, so he can see more than a defensive lineman. And that is why it was called.
But, there's no point in arguing. I learned that after 2012's "Fail Mary". What's called is what's called, whoever won is whoever won. The Patriots won, and there isn't going to be much of a change. -

Also, I might as well just say this. I was, obviously, rooting for the Seahawks in that game. I am also a huge Chargers fan of course, and they have quite a history against the Patriots which includes many heartbreaking losses, bad calls, and terrible sportsmanship by Patriots players. So yes, I do have some bias against the Patriots in all this, but still. I do think the Seahawks were the better team in a hard-fought match, minus a few plays.
Still, there's always next year. Maybe we'll see the Seahawks back again. Maybe we won't. Either way, we can't change the outcome of the game now, but we can wait until September when the season starts again.
Maybe, in my fantasies, the Chargers will even make the playoffs next year :D -

I had 100$ on the game.
The main thing for me, is the horrible, HORRIBLE end play! Anybody who knows anything whatsoever about football knows you do not pass on goal line, not the the crowded mid, and especially with a good running back and two more tries on getting it right. -

I like the no calls, they just let them play, and it made for a great game

It's called justice,
As the fluke catch should have never been completed, so pats won. Deserved it.
Happy for Brady and knew they would be the better team on the day
How Brady shredded the best defence in the league, you have to give him props for, Hawks will be back better next year though if they get some wide receivers -

The real question is, why in the hell would someone throw a ball for one yard, rather than running it in?
