Hello all, I'm here to talk about what makes this server different from all the others. This is a wide verity of reasons why I think this server is unique to the other servers out there. Sit back and relax, enjoy the show! #1. Non-corrupt staff members and quality of staff apps What I have seen is that many servers have staff members who mute, ban, kick or permaban for all the wrong reasons. There are even staff members who violate the servers own rules by using hacked clients, spamming etc. I'm not saying ECC is FULLY immune to this situation, but I find it very rare for a staff member to spam or bust out a hacked client. With the false bans, it has been very rare with the most recent one being here: https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/ban-appeal-legendarymoose16.140273/ But, unlike some really high servers, ECC rarely slips up in false bans. Now on to the quality of the staff applications. ECC, unlike high servers, really brings out the quality of how an application like a staff application should be, being split in to three parts instead of being just one part with a couple of lines. ECC shows how staff applications should be, they should have a serious and hard work approach to the role. Its like a job application, your helping with everything to make sure the server can be the best it can. #2. The Bank system Although some of you may argue that the banking system is really complicated and confusing, I think the bank system is a very well thought idea. It implements and simulates the real life version of banking, which is useful for kids turning in to adults. It helps them to understand the real life occurrences of banking and what to do in the future. The bank system is educational as well as complicated. #3. The community Most of the community is very helpful and cheerful when in the server chat and forum conversations. The community can make the newcomers to the server feel welcome and put them on the right tracks to set sail in our economy. Most of you will argue about the very trolly behaviour that has been happening very recently as of late, but that's only a miniscule amount of players acting in a trolly way. Other then the little amount of trolls in the community. I would recommend asking for advice from the users, they will be happy to share information about ECC with you. #4. ECD-to-real-life transactions Even though I think the amount of ECD needed for small amounts of money is ridiculous, the ECD-to-real-life transactions are a nice placement in our server that is unique from other servers. They are useful for people who don't have the dollar currency, like me, to pay ECD to a member of our community in exchange for cool features. I find it surprising that money-based servers never thought of this idea. The only problem is the scammers, its best to ask someone in the community with dollar signs next to their name, have been on the forums for more then a year or are mayor or higher. Other then that, I feel this idea helped a little with how much ECC has grown. #5. The lottery system The reason why I love the lottery system is because its all about chance and you can win masses amounts of ECD to put to ranks or the ECD-to-real-life transactions (see above) . With the lottery system, you can put one to a billion tickets in a hope that you make tons of profit. There have been insane wins of ECD with one ticket on the lottery system. In my opinion, this system is the thing to bet on to make lots of ECD to get to work your way up to the top of ECC. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get to high ranks. The only (minor) downside is how people can sell features and rankup to higher ranks without doing much, if any, work. I've seen a tycoon before who did very little work to get his rank. Then again, it's not like ranks give you much anyway or make you better at earning ECD.
Also, one final downside, is the the SG pay-to-win kits, meaning only donators can really play SG games. However, as a major upside, most of the value of things (like features) change depending how the players buy or sell them. You can truly call it a player built community.
Regarding the lottery not only is it amazing for the fact that it makes large amounts of money volatile for a chance to everyone to get at, but it also removes money from the economy which keeps it stable. The /bank feature is also one of the most amazing things I've seen done on a server because it goes so much further then that with the sports book feature and the stock market.
I love seeing threads like this @SuperBurgerPlayz, we honestly need more people like you who see how truly amazing this server is and point it out. I've seen too many people these days complain about how bad ECC has gotten even though it clearly hasn't because of those like you Very nice work!
Well thought out thread Super! It is great to see someone else who is able to find the many positives that ECC offers.
lol to me what makes ecc special is that staff members actually react to trolls instead of banning/muting them instantly and that is priceless
