I believe a mayor should be able to buy a portal for a town regardless as to whether he or she is the original owner.
Recently I purchased a town from Sprayware who bought it from Jackaluss77 (whom is banned) and I am relatively irritated at the fact the I can't ever get a portal in this successful town. Being the original town owner should have nothing at all with the ability to get a useful portal.
Even if jackaluss wasn't banned, and I was inactive for 14 days, and he regained possession of the town, it is highly arguable that he wouldn't be stressed over the portal at all, as portals are beneficial, and can always be broken.
Andrewkm should have no reason to not support town sales among players, a forum section could be dedicated to it, making it easy to manage. By increasing the prices in the shop-build and shop-wool venues to 5x the server value, Andrew's goal was to increase player to player trade and commerce, which can be effectively achieved with the sales of towns.
There are many more Mayors in the same difficult situation as me; Longing for a town portal, and being unable to receive one. It would be appreciated greatly if Andrewkm modified his stance on the sales of Portals to fit all player needs more appropriately.

I agree with this 100% why shouldn't we be able to do this I mean it does take money out of the economy as well as making towns better I don't see any issues with this at all and I hope it happens.

+1 but andrewkm does not agree with town transfer so he would shut it down like all the other times people asked for access to a feature that was only available for the orignal owner

    Hello,

So a lot of people frequently find themselves upset over this. There is a good reason though and you probably won't like it. According to Andrewkm and therefore according to the ECC Government, you don't own that town. If I sell you my Mayor town, according to the rules, you don't own it, I do. So why should you, based off that logic, be able to add a major feature to my town? What if I am not okay with you putting a 200x200 PvP arena in my town? What I come back, reclaim my town and decide that the PvP Arena has to go? Or what have you.

According to server rules that town is, for all intents and purposes, mine. Whenever you file an LWC removal, you post the Original App so that staff know who's town that is. That way, we don't remove their locks. We take original owner's very seriously. They can do just about anything with their towns and have freedom. If you want to pay less, and we all know that's why we buy towns from others, then you will be getting less. You get what you pay for.

I understand the frustration, trust me I do. I own 21 towns and only 6 of them are my original town. That is why I always make sure I write a contract with the original owner stating they will file an applications I need them to. It is simple as that.

Just saying, there are ways around the issue, but I highly doubt that the problem will ever change.
