Before I make the post regarding ECC’s future, which does indeed still have a lot in store, I’d like to first take the time to tell you about the person who has truly made EcoCityCraft what it is today.

Jamie Sinn has been a part of our community since the very beginning, and I have known him ever since he was 11. Before some people think “wait what?”, he’s basically one of my little brother’s real-life best friends. Simply put, they grew up together and I seen them at our house hanging out ever since they were kids :) .

EcoCityCraft had several developers come and go. At first, I started this project out-sourcing trusted developers with personal pay from my end. Eventually, KHobbits joined us in a more semi-full time fashion, and of course, eventually, KHobbits had to take his leave due to real life obligations (mainly getting a job at a major tech company). Jamie Sinn however, has been the only true full time official co-owner/developer we have ever had. Now of course, I don’t want to discredit our many amazing developers who have helped us through the years, specifically KHobbits and md_5. However, with Jamie Sinn’s recent leave, I feel it’s only right to tell you a little bit about him and what he’s done for ECC.

Ever since the very early days, Jamie has constantly attempted to make his way onto EcoCityCraft’s development team. He continuously submitted small pieces of code, and small things he wanted added, and was constantly told “maybe later”. He was a very young developer who continued to do what it takes to get on the team. His code wasn’t anywhere near what it is today, and several times KHobbits and I would slightly get irritated with the constant submissions from him. We denied and turned down several, beyond several, lines of code submissions from him, either because it wasn’t anywhere near up to par with KHobbit’s standards or because it simply wasn’t needed.

But see, after the literal dozens of times we turned Jamie down, he wouldn’t quit. He...
We are having some database issues and they happened at the very worst time. Both @JamieSinn and myself are in impossible situations IRL and the soonest we can get us back is Tuesday night.
Just want to inform everyone as to @JamieSinn ‘s absence as well as my own.

Jamie is currently preparing for a major Toronto based Robotics event at a very big venue dealing with hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars of expenses, event organization/co-ordination and more. He has been at it all week and the event will end Sunday night. (We should see his return around Monday-Tuesday).

I on the other hand have been busy packing and sending most of my stuff throughout the past month to Europe where I will be finally flying out to this Saturday night. I have been planning this for over a good month now, and it’s not for a vacation, but for a somewhat permanent move (2-3+ years). Why stay in one place all the time when you don’t “need” to. Decided to explore the world lol.

I will be landing on Sunday morning, however I will have no internet access (other than my cell phone via roaming) until around Tuesday night (will need to get new SIM cards and new internet service).

Pretty big new chapter in my life, super excited!

We are sorry for our absence and the lack of work you are seeing on our end, but rest assured come Tuesday we are back in full force working on absolutely everything that needs to be done.

PS: VMR theme will not change this Sunday due to Jamie and I literally not being around at all. However, the winners from the current week will of course count toward the Spawn Town #1 Mission.
As always, there will be 8 spawn towns on the new Main Server.
We are going to try and give these away in a fair way.

Not to those with the most EcoDollars, not to those with the most USD just so we can profit, but to users who complete certain goals and accomplishments.

The top 5 users from that goal/accomplishment mission will be placed into a raffle which we will do live for the spawn town in question. Meaning, there will be 8 raffles, consisting of 5 users each. If chosen in the raffle, the designated spawn town will belong to that user once they rank up to Mayor. (No one user can own more than one spawn town, however one user may be part of several raffles).

Main Server Minus the Silly People

This theme was one I personally chose this week.
I looked at the main server prices week, and made some adjustments based on the top 5 winners and what they did ;).

Sale prices are as follows:
Code:
Main server prices.
With some adjustments based on previous winners.

Main news post regarding release/more information can be found here.
We recently had a podcast where we turned #noinfo into #someinfo.
I'm now going to try and summarize what was discussed in the podcast in a quick news thread as well as add some extra information. Keep in mind I am stating everything short and to the point, so that most people understand the issues and solutions. #moreinfo news post will come within a few weeks once we finalize some of this and adjust it. (Remember, we are not done yet.)

Firstly, 1.13 - 1.13.x and it's problems.

1.13+ has brought on a plethora of problems. The biggest problem we face is the map's conversion. Converting a 1.12.2 map to 1.13+ (due to all the internal changes Mojang has done), has been proven to result in a major amount of issues. Corrupted chunks, missing blocks, empty chests, and much more, all of which you can find bug reports for on Mojang's official tracker. And when dealing with maps of our size (30,000x30,000) the problems will be endless. Users will lose blocks, chest contents and see random corrupted chunks in their cities. It will be endless crying and begging for help/support, something that will ultimately end with chaos.

However, this is just in the case of converting a 1.12.2 map. Our maps on EcoCityCraft, were generated around 1.4, and that's not all, they have already gone through a conversion back when Mojang changed the internal code long ago. Converting two 30,000x30,000 maps all the way back from around 1.4, which were already converted once, to 1.13+ is something that we've verified with several large developers, some of whom deal with Spigot, will absolutely always come with major problems. The chances of proper conversion are near none. The task is "convert a 1.4 already converted map from old code, to new code yet again, jumping over a dozen Minecraft versions". Oh, and do it flawlessly, ok, thanks. Lol some people's expectations.

Moving forward, maps are not our...
The /sell command has been permanently disabled on the main server. Announcement coming next week. We had a good run /sell hand on main. This is to prevent destruction of towns and hoarding money on forum bank due to current rumors Announcement soon. (And yes there are some who can destroy full vaults and hoard 100-200+ million, won't happen.)

You can still make money using SkyBlock's /isr command and the VMR theme. Main information will come within a week or so. Sorry no leaks, and no use listening to people's rumors, I can assure you I'm the only one who knows what the announcement is.
