Magic Shear fast break sponge blocks​

What are you suggesting:

Magic Shears are cool and all, but they would be cooler if they could also fast break dry and wet sponges like god pick does with stone or a god shovel does while flying and removing dirt.

Again this would add value to the sheers as a tool, along with using sponges to clear out large water projects more practice, as it feels like it takes ages to break sponges with any of the current tool regardless of base type or magic level.​

Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:

Makes magic Shears more useful/valuable. It would also make using sponges more tolerable.​

I must be doing it wrong because even with an eff 7 pick (god, ecc, magic) it takes a while to break them, and when you are collection hundreds for a 200x200 land claim, it takes a long time to pick them all up. The block sounds like it has the leaf block or sand sound when you break it too, so i also tried an axe and shovel on it, but nah its also slow breaking action still.

I get that it may be to complex to add or some other reason as to why this would somehow not be a good idea, but figured id suggest it since i feel like something should be able to insta-break sponges for when you are working on large projects that need water drained.

 

Oconner11279 pmed in game and told me the hoe breaks them the fastest, so its possible (why the hoe though?). Would still be cool if something like the shears could insta-break them though.

 

Ok so Oconners comment about hoes working is specific for normal eff 4 and 5 hoes (non magic, but maybe ecc/god). Magic hoes lack any eff, so they don't work correctly for this task i guess.

 

Yeah a vanilla hoe does, just not a magic one because of lacking efficiency. It does seem that the hoe is internally programmed to break this block faster, as other tools that also have efficiency don't break it nearly as fast as a vanilla hoes. So maybe add efficiency to magic hoes if this was to be considered as acceptable instead of added the property to magic shears?

 

Yeah thats fine, but id like to suggest instead that magic hoes get efficiency then. Do i need to close this and make a new suggestion for that?

 

I did this with a Netherite vanilla hoe with efficiency IV on it. This worked a lot better for sponge pickup.

Any forum admin, please go ahead and close this and I'll make a suggestion for efficiency to be added to magic hoes and see where that goes.
