Brief Description: For the past 2 weeks my chests been randomly unlocking in my towns. Today I came to my building chests with them all unlocked and everything gone. One chest is owned by @htes97. So I guess I can thank @htes97 for exploiting this glitch and selling every fking thing from my chests...

How many times did you recreate this bug?: Been done 3 times so far
Result: Lost everything
Expected Result: '/lock' shouldnt remove itself.

I am very mad that I just lost all my building materials, and I would also like an answer to why this is happening. https://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/user-complaint-htes97.149927/ . I put a screenshot in there, just in case you need one for this bug. I really hope something is done to this, because if I come on one day and my star tool chest is unlocked..... that would suck.

This is an issue with LWC at it's core, we are looking into this. @Server Admin can set up some rules regarding theft.

I didn't mean for this to come across as rude. Just trying to offer an immediate solution to a problem that may not be fixed for some time. Obviously this isn't a solution for everything, but it is a good enough temporary fix for precious items.

We are working on looking into a fix. There is an issue with the database being written to properly at correct intervals. We will not be switching locking systems (1.5M + Locks across the server.)

i did not know that was a bug i found chests that were unlocked and it was fair game i did not break any rules

Since they were unlocked via a bug it's debatable. On one hand, Gmaxx probably did lock the chests, and they were not unlocked by him. There have been a lot of issues lately with chests unlocking or relocking. For now I'd stay away from unlocked chests, and if you do lock a chest in the next few days or have recently, add extra protection to them (A Vault, putting a block over them in a protected region).
Although I do agree that if you didn't know about the issue it's no use now. -

The issue is "new protections made after server start" sometimes aren't properly saved after a "server shutdown (which we do for maintenance).
We are trying to track the issue.
We advise all players use protections that are already in place after a server restart (old ones) for now.
