Andrew asked me to post this. I'm sure this is intended behavior since the magic axe uses world edit, but things like cocoa beans and torches can be attached to logs and after the logs are broken with the axe, the attached items will still be floating.
Theoretically would also work with snow layers but didn't test that in the video.
