Would be neat but I think the mining speed buff through the effect could be pretty abusable when it comes to farming.

 

Can you please elaborate on this, so that I may form an opinion and decision on the suggestion.

 

Conduit power gives a break speed buff similar to haste while standing in water. According to what I've found, conduit power gives you the same boost as haste I.

This could be combined with enchantments and some solid engineering to create farms where you effectively will be farming with Haste I.

 

A farm built that allows you to move through water would theoretically allow you to break melons at haste I.

 

Please give me some sort of farming example, a TL;DR in theory.

 

The boot enchant "depth strider" makes you walker faster in water

 

But won't that just be like any other feature that gives advantages to the user to create more money making opportunities, I won't really count that as abuse. Not to mention it is very specific in it's function, you would need to have water source specifically designed to allow you to abuse the command when harvesting, so at least it requires some level of investment :I

It may be very specific, but this is ECC. If we're good at anything it's maximizing profits. From what I can tell, it's equivalent to Haste I, which provides a 20% boost to breaking speed. So I wouldn't really call a $30 feature that provides the equivalent of two prestige levels (months of work) the same as every other feature.

I think this can be nullified if you require the person to be fully submerged underwater to receive the effect as full submersion slows your breaking speed by the same amount. I mostly want this conduit effect to remove the breaking speed penalty when mining underwater.

 

an aqua affinity helmet also nullifies the penalty... then you'll get the haste-like boost.

After testing this and beyond shown/presented with some serious exploits related to conduits, this will not be a thing.
