yeah I agree, when I see people spamming &k in the chat, the mods are not really sure what to do.

we could limit the amount of characters the &k affects, or how often it can be used. Imo it’s way more disruptive than character spamming, and lots of people including myself get away with it.

That suggestion was asking to remove &k altogether. This suggestion is asking for rules on &k. Two different things... I don’t agree with it being removed, but I don’t think it should be left without rules.

 

I dont agree with it being removed but i do agree with it getting a restriction in use. And i didn't know the command was &k, so thanks for letting me know ; )

 

I agree with the spam part here. I think we should remove it because it really isn't used for anything other than spamming. I find it odd how we consider excess letters as too far, but doing this is more than fine? If this is ok to do, then pretty much any content in a message as far as spamming goes should be allowed.

 

+1 It's not even a funny thing to do at this point and it really is just spam that has essentially no rules regarding how many times you can use it. Even something like a 10 minute cooldown for the command would be nice if people still wanted to use it for fun once in a while.

What's the point of it, just remove it all together. There is legitimately no point for it besides spam.

 

For years we have been told that the ignore would not work because there was no database and that it was a flat file that was temp.
If we could please have an ignore function that really works this would be a moot point - just ignore the spammers.
If not, this is just as bad as character spam and instead results in many players just leaving chats.

Of course as a newly released "toy", it is difficult when even some staff are caught up in act of spam.
I mean, who on staff really wants to warn staff? :p

 

It already should be and andrew's told users to keep such &k posts out of global and in VIP. While I don't support adding to the already lengthy rules when such things are already arguably covered by trolling, abuse of features, spam, common sense, etc., a (brief) guideline change insisting on enforcement for abuse of &k or even more preferably just an announcement telling staff to prevent abuse of it might be welcome, insofar that some staff members seem to be lax with abuse or even abusing it themselves.

+1 to removing it completely. It's getting annoying to see it constantly spammed in chat, especially when it glitches the names of players. I think it should at least have a 10+ minute cooldown if you decide to keep it.
