Nice idea but I’m gonna have to -1 this.

Mojang added a slider that can disable screen distortion effects on a recent update, thus rendering this suggestion pointless. Whereas lightning is a forced entity that is summoned on the player, giving them an effect that is able to be turned off could lead to issues especially if you’re asking to charge 10k per use and the receiving end just blocks it entirely.

Yeah, nah. Lightning isn’t AS distorting as nausea could be, and I just see issues with trolling being prevalent.

I can't get behind this.
Lightning is a one off instant effect. It might startle you, but it's done as soon as it starts. This would put a prolonged effect on a player that would degrade their play experience on ecc. I can already see some using this on new players who annoy them, or as part of a troll campaign no matter what controls are put in place.
Add to that the fact that the effect can be turned off in settings and only green players, the players we want to attract, will be affected and possibly driven away.
